Team members, roles, and permissions
Last updated: April 2026
Techfleet Sync is multi-user from day one. Invite your team from /dashboard/settings/team, assign a role, and you're done — no seat licensing, no per-user billing.
Invite a team member
- Go to Settings → Team
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email and pick a role
- They receive an email with a sign-up link
- Once they accept, they appear in the Team list as Active
The four roles
- Admin — full access including billing, integrations, team, and destructive operations
- Manager — everything except user management and billing (day-to-day ops runs here)
- Staff — inventory and orders only; no settings, no channels, no reports
- Platform Admin — internal Techfleet role for support. DO NOT assign this.
Permissions matrix
Under the hood, each role is a preset over a matrix of ~46 permissions across 13 categories: dashboard, inventory, orders, purchase-orders, rmas, customers, channels, data-sources, buyer-links, warehouses, atlas, users, and settings. Admins can view the exact matrix at Settings → Team → Role details.
Activate and deactivate
Deactivate a user to revoke all access without deleting their history. Their past actions still show on the audit trail with their name attached. Reactivate at any time from the same screen.
Password resets
An admin can trigger a password reset email for any team member from their row in the Team list. The user resets through Clerk using a magic link — admins never see the password.
Audit trail
/dashboard/activity logs every write action by every user — product edits, order changes, refunds, channel reconnects. Filter by user to investigate specific activity.
SSO and SAML are on the enterprise tier (future). Ping support if you need a custom IDP today.
