Tax settings (US & Canada)
Last updated: April 2026
Techfleet Tax calculates US and Canadian sales tax at checkout based on the buyer shipping address. You only collect tax in jurisdictions where you are registered.
Registering a jurisdiction
- Go to Settings → Tax
- Click Add Registration
- Pick country and province/state
- Enter your tax number (BN in Canada, state sales tax ID in the US)
- Toggle which taxes to collect (GST, HST, PST, QST in Canada)
Tax-inclusive pricing
Toggle Tax-inclusive pricing per market to show the buyer a single price with tax baked in, instead of a line item at checkout. Common in Europe and some B2B contexts.
Invoice tax display
Every invoice shows the tax rate, tax amount, your registration number, and the buyer province/state. CRA and IRS accept these for input tax credit purposes.
Tax reports
Settings → Tax → Reports shows collected tax by month and by jurisdiction. Export as CSV to file with the CRA or your state agency.
You are responsible for registering in every jurisdiction where you have nexus. Techfleet Sync does not determine nexus on your behalf.
