Catalog matching for products
Last updated: April 2026
Techfleet maintains a canonical catalog of 5,694 device models across phones, laptops, tablets, and watches. Linking your products into the catalog gives you free specs, canonical images, release dates, and cross-channel identifiers like GTIN and UPC — no scraping on your end.
What catalog linking gives you
- Release year, OEM brand, category, and canonical product name
- Full spec sheet (display, battery, storage, RAM, connectivity)
- Verified canonical image served from the Techfleet CDN
- GTIN / UPC for Google Merchant Center and Facebook Shops feeds
- Model numbers and part numbers for repair and sourcing
Products that need matching
Products imported from Shopify, CSV, or other channels often land in your inventory without a catalog link. Those rows are flagged with needs_matching=1. Find them in the Inventory view by selecting the Needs Matching filter in the top bar.
Resolving a match
- Open the flagged product
- Click Link to Catalog
- Start typing the device name — the Catalog Autocomplete suggests candidates as you type
- Pick the matching model
- Review the spec and image preview
- Click Confirm — the product gets stamped with the catalog_model_id and needs_matching drops to 0
Auto-match on import
CSV imports and Shopify syncs run an auto-match pass using SKU and fuzzy-name matching. High-confidence matches (score >= 0.85) link automatically. Anything lower lands in the Needs Matching queue for human review.
Batch matcher
The Inventory page has a Batch Match button above the list. Click it to run the matcher across every unlinked product in the current filter. A dialog shows proposed matches with confidence scores — accept all high-confidence, review medium-confidence, skip the long tail.
Unlinking and relinking
Mis-matched? Open the product, click the catalog link in the sidebar, and click Unlink. Then relink to the correct model. The catalog_model_id is the only field that changes — your price, stock, and units stay intact.
If the catalog is missing a device you stock, email hello@techfleet.dev with the model name, an image, and a GSMArena or manufacturer spec URL. The Techfleet catalog team adds new models weekly.
