Refunds and cancellations

Refunds and cancellations both release reserved stock back to available inventory, but they apply to different order states.

Cancel an unpaid order

  1. Open the order (state must be Pending)
  2. Click Cancel Order
  3. Add a reason (visible to the buyer if you email them)
  4. Stock returns to available immediately

Refund a paid order

  1. Open the order
  2. Click Refund
  3. Choose full or partial, and select which line items to refund
  4. Confirm — funds are returned to the buyer via the original payment method

Fee handling on refunds

  • Techfleet platform fee (0.5%) is waived on refunds
  • Stripe card processing fees (2.9% + 30¢) are NOT refunded by Stripe
  • Offline payment refunds are free

Partial refunds

Partial refunds keep the order in its current state (Fulfilled, Shipped, etc.). Use them for price adjustments, missing-accessory complaints, or single-line returns on multi-line orders.

NOTE

Refunded serialized units can be marked as available again, or kept in a Returned state for inspection before reselling.
